Best ads of Pride Month 2023

Pride Month has come and gone and along with the celebrations and marches came some truly impactful advertisements.

Brand support and corporate sponsorship have become, for better or worse, an integral part of Pride Month celebrations. This year, in particular, that support has been important.

In the wake of pressure to separate themselves from Trans visibility and rights, brands are fighting back and showing much needed support to the community this Pride Month.

Even just looking up the best Pride month ads is likely to bring up a host of results attacking the LGBT+ community or referring to LGBT+ representation as offensive or controversial. These search results are precisely why these ads are so important.

This year, Outvertising is running a campaign to push back against hate and encourage brands to “stand their ground”, with more than 60 organizations voicing support for both the movement and the LBGT+ community. This support is seen and felt in so many advertisements during Pride Month 2023.

Top 5 Pride ads in 2023

These are some of the best Pride month advertising from 2023, in no particular order. From strong allyship to meaningful creatives, these ads take a stand and stand out.

Levi’s – How do you show up?

Community is everything and being there for your community, even when it’s difficult is a pillar of the LGBT+ community. Levi’s asks LGBT+ people from around the world: how do you show up for your community? Their answers are both impactful and inspiring.

This ad does a fantastic job of celebrating allyship and togetherness and communicating the importance of doing so, all year long.

Visible Wireless – No straight answers

This game show spoof featuring the Old Gays (of TikTok fame) is a hilarious and refreshing ad. Pride is all about celebrating who you are and this video does a fantastic job of doing just that.

Although this is a longer ad, this video is fantastically funny and uses that humor to make an impact. The ad’s light-hearted approach packs in culture and critical history, embracing both the spirit and importance of Pride.

Converse – Proud to be

Converse does a fantastic job creating a simple, yet important ad showing just how much there is to be proud of this Pride. With good representation and strong messaging, this clean, understated ad does what it needs to and that simplicity makes it easy to hold the audience’s attention throughout.

The North Face – Summer of pride

@thenorthface

Nature lets you be who you are. 🌈 So for the second year in a row we’re hosting Summer of Pride together with @pattiegonia (they/she/he) to celebrate you and all the beautiful ways you get outside.   More info + registration link in bio.

♬ original sound – thenorthface

For the second year in a row The North Face partners with Drag Queen and environmentalist Pattie Gonia to help make the outdoors more accessible to everyone. In addition to this ad, The North Face is once again going on tour to encourage communities to embrace nature and LGBT+ freedom.

The platform for this ad is also clever. By choosing TikTok, the company targets younger audiences and their use of pronouns in the description does a fantastic job at fully embracing allyship.

TD – No stopping

TD makes a stand expressing the importance of year round support with their critical initiatives for health, housing, and financial security.

This ad is a masterclass in representation with people of all genders, sexualities, and races represented and celebrated. TD makes an impact with their effective visual storytelling and ongoing commitment to uplifting the community through building financial freedom.

Pride Month 2023 produced so many impactful campaigns, and as the year progresses it is so important the momentum isn’t lost and supporting these communities continues. Pride Month may be June, but LGBT+ individuals have so much to be proud of all year long.
